The Brotherhood of Eternal Love was an originally founded in Laguna Beach by John Griggs as a spiritual commune. Their beliefs combined elements of Eastern mysticism, New Age spirituality and Timothy Leary’s psychedelic philosophy and their goal was to spread peace and enlightenment through psychedelics, especially LSD. However, the group became best known for it’s role in mass producing and distributing acid (notably Orange Sunshine) and it’s large scale smuggling operation, earning it the nickname ‘Hippie Mafia’.
