The One World Family commune was started in San Francisco by Allen Noonan in 1967. Their doctrine combined UFO beliefs, traditional Christianity and new age spirituality and they opened the city’s first vegetarian restaurant, the ‘Here and Now’ in Haight Ashbury. ‘Cosmic Cookery’ by Kathryn Hannaford was first published by Starmast Publications in 1973, the same year the group officially registered as a religious organisation. This is the second edition, published in 1974 and includes a weird illustrated photocopy of food's vibrational temperatures that was enclosed within the book at the time of purchase.
